Course Overview

This course supports the professional development of sterilisation technicians or nursing staff working in the theatre/sterilisation areas of health care facilities, through the development of knowledge and skills related to regulatory and practice standards in a range of technical procedures, occupational health and safety requirements, and team skills.

This course will also be relevant for staff in other sectors who are required to sterilise instruments e.g. doctor’s rooms, dental rooms and veterinary clinics.

Certificate III in Sterilisation Services is subsidised under the Government of South Australia’s subsidised Training Initiative. Eligibility criteria apply.

Fees

Course Cost:

Subsidised Training: Cost to the student is $500 for eligible students
Full fee cost: $4,565
Payment options available.

Structured work placement

Some students will be offered the option of a work placement organised by ANMEC, this will be negotiated after enrolment.

Admission criteria

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or over
  • Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible visa holder
  • Physical ability to demonstrate manual handling skills applicable is a compulsory component of the course and the clinical industry workplace
  • Applicants are required to sit a Language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment as part of application process. An interview will also be required at ANMEC. Selection for enrolment is a competitive process and completion of the LLN assessment or application for course does not guarantee enrolment offer.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander & culturally and linguistically diverse background applicants are encouraged to apply

Special Requirements

  • Criminal history background checks - DHS Clearances as required by employer
  • Applicants must be able to meet immunisation requirements of the placement provider
