Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process that acknowledges the skills and abilities that you have built up prior to study, which includes both formal and non-formal learning, along with work experience and volunteering. Through RPL on specific units, you can receive your qualification without having to repeat the same learnings that you’ve already experienced.

We believe everyone is entitled to an opportunity to apply for RPL.

Who is eligible for RPL in Australia?

If you have completed a qualification or some units of competency from a qualification or worked in a position that’s enabled you to undergo industry- relevant tasks, or have received in-house training in a previous role; you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning through a course you’re interested in taking part in.

If the evidence you have is relevant to the course you’re interested in, this information will be assessed by ANMEC to determine whether you’re a suitable applicant.

Before you start on your journey to apply for RPL it would be great for you to speak to the relevant manager about the best approach for you. Please contact our friendly team to organise a time:
